This male and female set is polarized, which means the design is unique to prevent accidental reverse polarity connection. It has self-wiping action, which cleans contact surfaces during connection/disconnection. The stainless steel spring applies 50 lbs. of pressure to hold the two silver-plated copper contacts firmly together and maintain constant contact. The design allows air to flow through the housing, assisting in cooling. This is perfect for frequent connect/disconnect cycles. Its insulated housing uses a durable, high-impact-resistant, high-temperature polycarbonate plastic with a UL94 V-0 flammability rating.
